it's the economy, y'all

There's actually a really good excuse this time for why I haven't written anything in god-only-knows how long. Here's how it went down:

I'm in a bit of a financial situation right now. Because of the economy, I lost my job. Said job paid for my (still-increasing) tuition fees at my university. As a result, I've had to pick up two other jobs that pay less. I haven't been able to do anything recently but work and try to keep my grades up.

Which is the reason for my utter and absolute lack of activity with any of my stories. I can't offer you anything until the summer, when I won't have classes to worry about and more time in the day to breathe. Until then, I hope everyone else is weathering the current storm. I'll come back to life again in around 6 weeks, and I promise to have an update for you folks when I do.

(That's the end of my whine. Really :D )

The semester didn't end as planned. In fact, it ended with me sick and thoroughly screwed for my finals.

I finally got out of my sick bed after two weeks and logged on to let y'all know:

Yes, I am still alive. No, despite my best efforts I am still writing/editing the same thing for the past three months. Somebody, take pity and inspire me.

(And now I'll crawl back into bed and over-medicate myself with Tylenol and Benadryl Sinus.)

There is a perfectly good explanation for why there is a new story up on fanfiction instead of the new chapter of A Life Interrupted. FOLKS, THERE IS A PERFECTLY GOOD REASON.

This is the reason...It's pretty good (methinks) )

In the meantime, college starts again in about three days so I'm packing my behind off like there's no tomorrow and still getting pleasantly nowhere. And since I'm a political junkie WITH ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO, I'm kind of sort of excited over this entire Democratic National Convention thing.

Ah, me.

THE WEBSITE IS UP NOW. I SHIT YOU NOT.

This is why it took so damn long )

I THINK I'LL JUST GO DIG MYSELF A GRAVE AND LIE DOWN FOR THE REST OF THE DECADE, THANKYOUVERYMUCH.

(Go check it out, folks, and let me know what you think. Apparently, it doesn't look so hot in IE, but it works in just about every other browser--Firefox and Safari included--so I could care less.)

My IOU for [info]aoi_megumi now includes:
  • My firstborn
  • An inordinate and obscenely extensive amount of SasuNaru smut
  • The rest of the bridge series within the next month. (Can I do it, you ask? Remember my twenty-chapter writing spree last summer? BUAHA.)
  • My left kidney.

UM.

Y'all might want to WORSHIP [info]aoi_megumi now. Raise statues in honor of AWESOMENESS. Why? Because, Hallelujah, she offered to host me. The scrum will be back up soon, folks, and all these troubles will be over. I will worship her in my own way and write her some epic ficcie. With smut. NO JOKE.

Until then, which may or may not take a while--which all depends on how senile I've gotten in the past two years and how much html I remember...

THIS is the icepick that you will all want to stab me with.

THIS is how:

Right now, I'm thinking, "Omfg, look how big this crapstorm I created is." Here is why:

1. My website is down )

I also just got transferred in my intern so I have to learn an entirely new skill set by Thursday, not to mention that I just took an examination to get my license as a public health professional...The exam started at 9:10 and ended at 6:30. Most of it was waiting, and by the end I came away with my nerves fried.

Also, how am I supposed to survive with no internet or TV? I figured it out, people: Write. A buttload.

You will all probably stab me with an icepick now. )

Oh, dear, dear lord.

[Naruto] Back Seat Anecdotes (1/7)

So my boss almost fired me the other day because I told her that I can't make it to two--count them, one, two--days of work because I was moving. But since I worked too hard to get the internship, I swallowed my pride and agreed to figure out a way, but that I'd be there anyways.

In the meantime, I've been watching way too much NCIS so expect Abyssus to come back, completely re-written, with a new title, and slightly different plot.

Oh, and thanks to Vio-chan for prodding me along to move this onto livejournal. The rest of the chapters will be put up, with minor editing, one a day.

r.i.p. l'atelier

[info]valleyproject
I'm turning 18 fairly soon, and my parents decided that I should learn about responsibility. So to mark my liberation from childhood, I get to pay for college next year all by adult-self. I finished my first year a few days ago, and I really hadn't paid much attention to the money at all.

Turns out. This college thing? KInd of expensive. I mean, really.

Maintaining a domain isn't really an option anymore, and livejournal seems to work for a lot of other writers. Being piss broke and all, I also decided to stop pining after shoes and freakishly amazing hot chocolate.

And besides, it gives me a chance to finally stalk some of my readers online. (If you friend me, I won't bite. Really.)

So in the coming weeks, I'm going to be moving all my writing onto livejournal (how is this going to work, exactly? Please. Like I thought this through.) In the meantime, my website l'atelier is still up and working. Once I'm done with the move though, I'll deactivate it.

So, to cheer myself up: a crack-fic.
